New study on Chronic Pain

The team from the University of Lausanne (CHUV) published the results of the Lausanne CoLaus cohort in the European Journal of Pain in July 2024. Predictors for the occurrence and recovery of chronic pain in a Swiss population were investigated. Read the study in the PDF Download or OpenAcces Article.

New SPS President 2023

The official term of office of our new President PD Dr. med. Marc R. Suter began on Friday, November 10, 2023.

PD Dr. med. Marc R. Suter is Deputy Physician in the Pain Center of the CHUV (Department of Anesthesiology). He is an anesthesiologist, pain physician and neuroscientist. As head of the Pain research group, he studies the mechanisms leading to intractable chronic neuropathic pain, with a particular focus on peripheral and central neuroinflammation and abnormal neuronal excitability. He also leads or participates in clinical research related to phenotyping and genotyping of patients with chronic pain.
