Pain in children and teenagers
Children and teenagers can also be affected by complex, long-lasting pain. It impairs their quality of life, personal and educational development as well as their family and social life. An important first step in treatment is to understand and classify the pain problem and to involve specialized professionals. Here you will find information on the phenomenon of pain in the form of videos, books, links and a list of specialized outpatient and inpatient therapy services for children and adolescents with chronic pain.

Patient Partner
We would like to use the expertise of young people who are or have been affected by chronic pain in our clinical and scientific work and have set up the “Patient Partners” group for this purpose. Online meetings are held twice a year and are led by two specialists from practice and research. The young patients serve as a “sounding board” for topics from clinical practice and research. Young people who would like to take part in the Patient Partners project can contact Alice Prchal (alice.prchal(a)kispi.uzh.ch) and Helen Koechlin (helen.koechlin(a)kispi.uzh.ch). Age: 14 to 25 years.
Dates of the online meetings 2024:
- February 7, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m.
- September 11, 2024 from 6-7.30 p.m.
