Continuing Education in “Specialised Pain Physiotherapy (SpSPT)”

The courses are offered as Short Advanced Studies (SAS) and can be combined with additional SAS modules to obtain the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) “Specialised Pain Physiotherapy (SpSPT)”.

Those who successfully complete the CAS “Specialised Pain Physiotherapy (SpSPT)” can be included in the “Pain Physiotherapy” therapist directory.

Under the direction of the Special Interest Group Pain Physiotherapy (SIG) of the Swiss Pain Society and with the support of the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), a training programme in “Specialised Pain Physiotherapy (SpSPT)” is offered. It is aimed at professionals working in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and chiropractic care.

Part 2 – Pain Diagnostics: Wednesday, 24 February 2027 – Wednesday, 3 March 2027
Part 3 – Pain Physiotherapy Skills: Spring Semester 2028
Part 4 – Pain Disorders: Autumn Semester 2028
Completion: Autumn Semester 2028

Recognition of the SPS:

The SPS awards 12 continuing education credits towards maintaining the title “SPS Pain Specialist®”. In addition, 30 hours can be credited towards the 80-hour course required for the title “SPS Pain Specialist”.
